Where has the time gone

Yes, quite lierally, where has the time gone!! Since last posting, I have moved house...hence the silence...With all the packing and sorting, making new friends in the compound, it has been rather hectic!!

I have not done one iota of scrapping in over a month!! I tried to sit down today and be creative, and it was gone...yes, I have scrappers block, or perhaps I just am not feeling the pictures I am trying to scrap...

Just to let you in on the pics, on Monday, I was lucky enough to score a free-bee ride on a Gulfstram, private jet/ We flew to Doha and back and for a few short hours, I felt like a millionaire with my own private jet....I tried to scrap the amazing photographs today and...... NOTHING....no MOJO - so here I am in in a tight fix, with all this amazing intent, and no delivery. So later on tonight, I am off to dust off my old scrapping mags and see if I can find something to put a fire under my bottom and get me to do something fantastic and dynamic...

Watch this space, I will be posting TIPS TO CURE SCRAPPERS BLOCK once I have found my own trusty solution...

Until the next time, happy scrapping!!!

Family

Materials:
  • 12" x 12" Cardstock
  • White cardstock for title and matting
  • Printed Paper for title and matting
  • Ribbon
  • Felt flowers
  • Prima flowers
  • PVC heart (home made, directions included)
  • Brads
  • Journallign block stamp & ink.
Assembly:
  1. Cut and mat title (I used a Silhouette), and attach to the top right of your page.
  2. Crop and mat photograph and attach to page, centred horizontally, but slightly off centre to the top of the page on the vertical.
  3. Stamp with journalling block on the bottom right hand side of the page.
  4. Cut PVC shape (instructions below), and attach to bottom left of your page
  5. Attach a piece of ribbon on the bottom left of your page, starting right on the edge, going over the heart shape, and ending at the stamped image.
  6. Attach 2 small prima flowers next to the heart embellishment, and attach brads through centre of the flower.
  7. Attach 3 felt flowers to the top left of the page, adjacent to your title. Secure with brads.
PVC Shapes:
For the heart above, I used a stencil, but free hand works just as well...
Thoroughly wash out a PVC milk carton, allow to dry. Trim out the flat edges using a sharp scissors. Trace your shape on to the plastic using a sharp pin. Using a sharp nose scissors, cut out the shape...Presto!! PVC shapes for free.
Should you use the above to create your own page, mail your low resolution image to me and I will post them!!
One of the lovely photos I took while in South Africa. This one was taken at Marina Beach, South Coast, Natal

Hooray it is week-end

Hello!!

I have had such a busy week, what with deadlines as well as having to get the kids ready for the start of the new school year next week!!

Deadlines were met and school clothes were sorted!! This left me with a little bit of time on my hands to get some scrapbooking in and a little card making too. I am reviving this old passion of mine...something that was left in the dark when I discovered the spell-binding world of scrapping.

I have started a fabulous K&Co 8.5" x 8.5" album, dedicated to only pictures of my husband and I or ones of us with our kids. As I am not a chronological or theme scrapper, this is the first theme album I have done since baby albums for each of my children. My aim with this album is to use mostly free stash, you know, the pages and embellishments you recieve by the bundle in Scrapbooking and Cardmaking mags. So far I have managed to successfully complete 6 pages, and still haven't lost sight of my original goal. I only add cardstock if necessary, and then I am trying to use up my scraps. I am hoping to make a true "scrap" book!!

The cards I have made have been quite fun. When I manage to settle down, I will post a card class on the blog, and those of you who are interested, are more than welcome to join.

With some luck, I will have the craft get togethers' starting next week. So far I have set aside Monday and Wednesday mornings at my house. E-mail me if you want more info.

Please don't forget to come back regularly to see if there are any new developments, or if I have found some new treasures I would like to share...

Until next time...

Some handy resource sites

Hi
Have you ever had scrappers block? Well, it is a common problem. There is nothing wrong with drawing some inspiration from other peoples work. Scraplifting is not a dirty word. Most scrappers will be honoured that you are wanting to utilise their page and make it your own. Whether you copy it verbatim or draw from elements, the only rule with scraplifting is that you give mention when mention is due. Don't pass it off as your own, it is just not the scrapping way!!!

I have included a lovely link to a site with pages to colour in, something to keep the wee-ones busy. I have used some of the images to create paper piecing items for scapbooking too!

Over the years I have found some handy sites to find either inspiration or resources. I have listed some of my favourite below:

Becky Fleck Page Maps
www.pagemaps.com
A new sketch page every month and tons of archive items!

DLTK
www.dltk-kids.com/coloring.htm
Filled with pictures to print out, catagorised by theme.

Allcrafts.net
www.allcrafts.net/cards.htm
Cardmaking inspiration

UK Scrappers
www.ukscrappers.co.uk
Scrappers heaven forum!

I hope you find these links useful!! I would love to hear from you, let me know you are visiting by becoming a follwer!!

Until the next time!
Yours in punches and glue!

Hello! Hello

This blog page has been a long time coming!! It is through a series of bizarre events that I have ended up finally doing a blog page. It is my intention to add inspiration to those who are keen to get craft and I will post my latest creative adventures, which include scrapbooking, cardmaking, photography and any thing else that includes paint, glue and glitter!! I will be posting all sorts of things to do, to make and ideas to keep little fingers busy. I have found that a fabulous way of keeping my children busy during the 9 week summer vacation in Dubai, is by using the stuff I would normally throw away, to make all kinds of fun things like puppets, trinket boxes and frames.

Here's to happy crafting!!
